Leprechaun Invasion

On St. Patrick's Day, Leprechauns invade our classroom!  They left green slime everywhere and made a huge mess!  At least they left us some lucky green coins.  The kids created some great how-to writing pieces about How to Catch a Leprechuan.  They were going to trap, trick, and chase those naughty leprechauns! They were on a hunt all day to look for clues but we didn't end up catching those naughty leprechauns.  I guess we'll have to wait until next March….or until the next time we see a rainbow.

Rock in Prevention

In early March, Rock in Prevention performed at our school.  The goal of Rock in Prevention is to use music to prevent bullying.  The kids had a lot of fun singing and dancing!

Read Across America Day

We had a great time celebrating Read Across America Day (Dr. Seuss' birthday) on Monday.   The students each received a brand new Disney anthology book from a sorority donation. We read a book by Dr. Seuss book every 30 minutes and, in the afternoon, the students visited each of the grade levels for a fun activity.  We also made Oobleck…it was some messy fun! :)

Reading some Dr. Seuss classics
